Portrait of our President, Olivier Girard

Olivier Girard, Eng. M.Sc.A, President of OG Consultants, has over 19 years’ experience in structural engineering. With a master’s degree in earthquake engineering and structural dynamics, Olivier has led projects of all sizes with unrivalled technical precision. His expertise ranges from conventional concrete, steel and wood structures to unconventional materials such as composites and innovative shock absorbers.

Renowned for his ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms, he has guided technical teams through large-scale projects without a hitch. An innovator at heart, Olivier has contributed to the implementation of new technologies, notably the use of fiber-reinforced rubber for vibration control. His passion for innovation, combined with an in-depth knowledge of structural behavior, makes him a leader in the field of structural engineering.

Olivier is involved in training his peers. Having initially worked at the Université de Sherbrooke as a lecturer at bachelor’s and master’s level, he is currently teaching college students at Collège Ahuntsic in Montreal and lecturing at the École des Technologies Supérieures. He is also a trainer for the private training firm FORMobile.
